LQBTQ+ Beginner Ice Climbing Clinic

  • Sandstone Ice Park Sandstone MN, 55072 (map)

OutClimb’s Dustin Modrow (he/they) is joining Midwest Mountain Guides’ Katie Berg (she/her) for a clinic that creates an intentional space for trans and queer climbers to learn the basics of ice climbing.

This is the second year Sandstone Ice Festival and Minnesota Climbers Association has worked with OutClimb to provide this clinic. The effort to provide accessible ice climbing opportunities to promote LGBTQ+ inclusion is always appreciated.

Learn more and buy tickets at www.midwestmountainguides.com

This is a beginner clinic designed to take someone with no climbing experience (ice or rock) and provide them with 4 hours of instruction. Helmet and harness rentals are included with your clinic, and the American Alpine Club will provide some gear demos, but otherwise your best bet for boots and crampons will be Hard Water Sports in Sandstone or the UofM Center for Outdoor Recreation in Minneapolis. (The UofM rental center is only open M-F so a 3 day rental is required.)
